Annual Report and Upcoming Kalendar

Scotland - South East
(2 Sovereign Councils 30° and 3 Sovereign Chapters 18°
Deputy V∴Ill∴Bro. Fraser Gaunt 33°)

It is with a variety of mixed emotions that I submit, for the tenth and final time, my annual report to the membership on the past year's activities of The Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite within the Scotland - South East Province, it being the area defined by my, soon to expire, Patent and therefore the area of my supervision.
It truly was my pleasure to have attended all the many meetings of both the Sovereign Chapters and Sovereign Councils within this region of Scotland and I take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to the whole membership for their warm and welcoming greetings on each of those sojourns.
The Ladies Evenings arranged so expertly by both the Edinburgh and Forth Valley Sovereign Chapters and Sovereign Councils were to both Doris and myself as well as to all attendees an absolute pleasure and delight for all and my appreciation on behalf of us both is cordially extended to them for two truly superb social occasions.
It is my continuing pleasure to report that attendance by the membership at all the regular meetings of our Scottish Rite reflects not only a healthy present condition of the various Chapters and Councils but also an optimistic and energetic view of the future of the Scottish Rite for all concerned. To the elected administration teams of both all Sovereign Chapters and Sovereign Councils within my remit I extend my sincere thanks for their wonderful and efficient efforts on behalf of their memberships thus making my supervision of them so very much easier. To those whom our Supreme Council have bestowed promotion upon, I congratulate and wish them continued enjoyment within our beloved Scottish Rite and best wishes for their future enjoyment therein.
It is with great humility and an overwhelming sense of privilege that I can report to being completely "stunned, shocked and almost rendered speechless" by the somewhat devious, although very caring action by the members of Forth Valley Sovereign Council in conferring their first ever Honorary Membership of their Sovereign Council No. 72 on myself in early November 2016 and I cannot fully express my sentiments when two weeks later in late November 2016 the membership of Forth Valley Sovereign Chapter No. 196 similarly conferred only their second ever Honorary Membership again on myself once more, under similarly dubious conditions. How they managed to keep "the secret" I still do not know. Rest assured, both the Chapter and Council, will not see any less of me in the future by these incredible acts of kindness.
Our thoughts are, as always, extended to those who have lost a loved one within the past year and I am sure we all extend our deepest and humble condolences to all those so affected, yet we take comfort in the knowledge that they are within Christ's all embracing love and care.
To the team at Head Office in George Street, I thank Mrs Sheena Rafferty, now retired, her Assistant Mrs Fiona Hogarth now Office Manager and the new member of "The Force" Jennifer Smith whom we warmly welcome to the "fray", always acknowledging, of course, our Most Illustrious Grand Secretary General Bro. Alexander Galbraith, as leader of the "Admin Team".
To the Supreme Council for Scotland I extend my thanks for the honour of representing them as Deputy throughout the past decade and trust my successor will enjoy the same privilege in the years to come.
