Annual Report and Upcoming Kalendar

Scotland - North East
(2 Sovereign Councils 30° and 3 Sovereign Chapters 18°
Deputy V∴Ill∴Bro. Charles B. Kelman 33°)

It gives me great pleasure in submitting my first Annual Report of my Commission as Deputy for Scotland – North East.

I was installed on the 19th October 2016 and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Most Powerful Sovereign Grand Commander and the Members of Supreme Council for this honour they have bestowed on me.  I will do everything in my power to support the Rite and my Province during my tenure.
I have attended all but two meetings of the Sovereign Chapters and Councils since being installed and assisted the Supreme Councils deputations at all five Installations.  The warmth and friendship that has been extended to me from all members of the Supreme Chapters and Councils in my Province has been extremely humbling and I am pleased to report that all regular and Installation meetings have been extremely well attended and very harmonious.
Active membership increased this year with 19 candidates being perfected to the 18° and 7 were promoted to the 30°.
I would also like to congratulate those members of our Rite whom the Supreme Council has deemed fit to promote.
Unfortunately, I have to report the sad passing of 9 members to the Grand Supreme Council above from the Active and Non-active lists, we mourn their passing and our thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones.
I congratulate the Grand Commanders, Most Wise Sovereigns and their Office Bearers who continue to deliver our ritual to the highest standard.  I am impressed with the amount of visiting our Grand Commanders and Most Wise Sovereigns do to their respective sister bodies over the length and breadth of Scotland and likewise the reciprocal visits their opposite numbers make to our Province.
The Secretaries and Treasurers continue to work tirelessly for their Sovereign Chapters and Councils with most of their work being done at home and without their effort our meetings would not flow seamlessly.  I am indebted to them all for keeping their records and accounts in excellent order and for ensuring that everything is done in strict accordance with the requirements laid down by the Supreme Council for Scotland.
I would like to make mention to two members from the Province who got promotion within and to the Supreme Council this year, Very Powerful Lieutenant Grand Commander Charles Iain Robert Wolrige Gordon of Esslemont 33° and Grand Sword Bearer Most Illustrious Henry (Harry) G. Petrie 33°.  Supreme Council have made two excellent choices in these promotions and I congratulate them both from all in the Province.
My sincere thanks goes to my predecessor
Very Illustrious Brother John W. Caithness 33° for all his guidance and advise that he has given to me since taking over, I sincerely hope that I can emulate the high standards which he set.
Finally, I would like to thank our Grand Secretary General, Most Illustrious Brother Alexander Galbraith 33°, Mrs. Sheena Rafferty (until she retired), Mrs. Fiona Hoggarth and Mrs. Jennifer Smith for their guidance and support since I took over.  I hope that Sheena will enjoy her retirement and spend some much deserved family time with her loved ones knowing that the Head Office is in Fiona’s very good hands.
